Particulate matters emitted by an firewood cook stove

5. Conclusion

A 3-day sampling of the background concentration (BC) and with an active wood cook stove confirms a higher PM(s) emission. PM(s) emission by cook stove to the immediate background is from 6% to 125% more and to daily average background concentration is consistently in the range of 65 to 95% more. The stove was to used to boil water and no frying meat was occurred. The dramatic variation of BC should be investigated further because of the assumption that BC in rural areas is theoretically low and presumably stable.
